Welcome to the DIALOGUE MATTERS network website. This section (the
Main Web) is the public part - anyone can read the pages or download attachments, but only registered members can edit the pages. The private section is only readable and editable by members, and can be found under
Private Web.
DIALOGUE MATTERS is an interdisciplinary network set up to encourage collaboration on the study of dialogue. We currently count linguists, psycholinguists and computational linguists amongst our number. This site uses TWiki technology to enable researchers to share slides, share software, and collaboratively maintain and edit web pages.
The DIALOGUE MATTERS network provides a forum where representatives of three sub-disciplines - theoretical linguistics, computational linguistics and psycholinguistics - can collaborate in developing models of dialogue that can bridge the gulf between theoretical understanding, psychological modelling, and practical system development. We aim to demonstrate the benefits of an integrated approach by developing co-ordinated linguistic and psycholinguistic dialogue models supported by psycholinguistic experimentation and prototype implementation (human-human and human-intelligent-software-agent).
